Our hope is to reach patients and caregivers via word of mouth within the hospital settings and upon research.

Noah’s Foundation

…was formed to address the lack of financial support in North Carolina to those with spinal cord injuries and to bring awareness of the need for these funds.

According to the National Spinal Cord Injury Systems Database (NSCISD), over 17,900 people per year are afflicted with spinal cord injuries (SCI) per year (Jain, Ayers, Peterson, et al. 2015). The first year of expenses for health care and living range from $379,000 to over $1 million depending on severity of the injury. This cost does not include loss of wages or any other benefits the injured person was earning prior to their SCI (Cao, Chen, DeVivo, 2011).  Additionally, this cost does not include the loss of wages of persons injured or family that are called on to help. Due to the extensive cost and lack of monetary resources, the quality of life is drastically reduced for patients and caregivers. Many go without simple necessities and lose what they have worked so hard to earn. The families and ones injured need an organization that can direct them to monetary resources to help cover these costs.
